List Price, Retail Price, Wholesale Price — What is that?
List Price: When uploading a product, you are asked to enter a List Price. The List Price is your recommended sales price of the product. It is exclusive of VAT, which means VAT will be added at checkout if applicable. Please note: The List Price is - in relation to the customer - a mere recommendation. Flightsim.to can sell your product for less or for more. However, it is binding for the determination of your commission per sale.
- Example: If you want us to sell your product for $10.00 (+ VAT), your List Price would be $10.00. Based on the List Price you enter, we calculate your commission for each sale - the Wholesale Price, meaning your List Price minus our Author Fee. In the example of $10.00 you would receive $7.00 per sale from us, supposed you are on a 30%-plan.
Wholesale Price: The Wholesale Price is your revenue from each sale, the result of your List Price minus the Author Fee. It is the commission you receive for each sale
- Example: A List Price of $10.00 minus the Author Fee of 30% would result in $7.00 commission per sale.
Retail Price: The Retail Price is the price we sold your product to the end customer excl. of VAT. It shows how much the customer paid for your product. In most cases, it matches your List Price, but it can also be less or more, for example if discounts are applied, or we changed our pricing. The Retail Price is only an information for you, it has no legally binding meaning for your royalties or similar.
- Example: If a customer paid $9.00 for your product, the Retail Price would be $9.00, while your List Price can still be $10.00.
Taxes: Remember that List Price, Wholesale Price and Retail Price are always excl. of VAT or any sales tax.
Why does my List Price sometimes change?
You are free to change your List Price at any time. Changing the List Price means that we will reconsider the Retail Price we sell your products to end customers. Most likely, if you reduce your List Price, we will also reduce the Retail Price - and the other way round. But your List Price can also change temporarily: Requesting discounts or coupon codes on Flightsim.to will also mean that you are temporarily reducing your List Price by the discount volume.
- Example: If your List Price for a product is $10.00 and you request a 30% discount for one week, your List Price will be reduced by 30% for that period. Your commission is then calculated based on the current applicable List Price (List Price - Discount Volume - Author Fee = Wholesale Price).
