Flightsim.to Vendor Fees
For partners, Flightsim.to knows one type of fee. It is charged per successful sale and we call it Author Fee. The amount of this fee depends on whether you decide to become a exclusive or non-exclusive author.
The Author Fee
The Author Fee is charged per sale and depends on your account type.
- Exclusive partners decide to sell their products via Flightsim.to only. We are charging a 20% fee per sale with these partners.
- Non-exclusive partners are selling their products on other platforms or stores as well. We are charging a 25% fee per sale with these partners.
Overview
When uploading a product, you set a List Price excl. VAT. This is the price you want us to sell your product to End Customers (+ VAT), a non-binding price recommendation. From the List Price, we deduct our Author Fee mentioned above. The resulting amount is the Wholesale Price. We purchase each product copy to be delivered to customers from you at the Wholesale Price. The actual price we sell your product to the End Customers is called Retail Price. Usually, List Price and Retail Price match, but it can be that we lower the price of your products, for example due to discounts or sales. If we lower the prices, you will still get the compensation that you would receive according to your List Price.
Examples
- Exclusive Plan - You want to sell your product for $10. Thus, your List Price is $10. In this case, we will charge the customer $10 plus VAT where applicable. Then, if you're an exclusive seller, we will deduct the 20% Author Fee from your List Price, which was $10. As a result, $8.00 per sale goes to you, the Wholesale Price. It does not matter how much the customer was ultimately charged incl. of VAT.
- Non-Exclusive Plan - You want to sell your product for $24. Thus, your List Price is $24. In this case, we will charge the customer $24 plus VAT where applicable. Then, if you're an non-exclusive seller, we will deduct our 25% Author Fee from your List Price, which was $24. As a result, $18.00 per sale goes to you, the Wholesale Price. It does not matter how much the customer was ultimately charged incl. of VAT. The resulting amount of the List Price minus our fees is called Wholesale Price. This is the Price we pay to you for each sale to End Customers.
- Retail Price and List Price: You want to sell your product for $10. Thus, your List Price is $10. In this case, we decide to sell your product for just $9.00 - be it because of store-wide sales events or other reasons. We will charge the customer $9 (Retail Price) plus VAT where applicable. Then, if you're an exclusive seller, we will deduct the 20% Author Fee from your List Price, which was $10. As a result, $8.00 per sale goes to you, the Wholesale Price.
Value Added Tax
We may be required by law to charge VAT, which will be added on top of your List Price. This depends on where the customers are based. In Germany, for example, there is a 19% sales tax. This means, the customer needs to pay 19% on top of your List Price, as we are required by law to charge, remit, collect and report the applicable tax rate. However, you always set your List Price excl. of VAT.
- Example: A customer based in Germany purchases your product. Your LIst Price is $10. Since your customer is based in Germany, he has to pay 19% sales tax on top. The customer's final bill will be $11.90 ($10 + 19 %). We collect and remit taxes as required by law. We calculate our fees on your List Price, which was $10.
