The purpose of this mod is to make a "Cargo" variant of the DC-3 distinguishable from the "Passenger" variant for use in Virtual Airlines that use the NewSky platform.
This mod:
- Takes the default DC-3 "cargo" model, which is normally linked to an individual livery, and splits it to a unique simObject name to be detectable by NewSky (douglas-dc3-cargo).
- Increases the MTOW of the PAX DC-3 from 26,200lbs to 29,300lbs as verified in the AH DC-3 Manual. MLW is still 26,000lbs.
- Changes CG loading station names to reflect that of a cargo/WWII configuration.
The included "Metal" livery uses the "unrestored" panel (NO GNS/KAP140 units).
The included "White" livery uses the "modern" panel (WITH GNS/KAP140 units).
Performance Notes:
MTOW Takeoff Distance: 2625ft/800m of usable runway at SL with zero wind, flaps 1/4.
MTOW Takeoff to clear 50ft obstance 4500ft/1375m of usable runway at SL with zero wind, flaps 1/4.
Takeoff at MTOW with 0º on all trims.
The tail will get light at 70mph, hold the nose LEVEL/SLIGHTLY DOWN until reaching Vr.
Vr 90mph seems to work - Accelerate in ground effect to 120mph climb speed and reduce power to 42" MP at 300ft.
As all assets used here are included in the Standard edition of MSFS this mod is shared under Microsoft's Usage Rights/Game Content Usage Rules.
TAKE NOTE: As of V1.2 the mod REQUIRES Duckworks Improvement Mod in order for lights and effects to work properly.
V1.4
- Changed default W&B loading arrangements for better CG management (more neutral CG balance)
- Removed redundant model files
