Livery representing the C-47A K-687 in the danish flight museum ( text is in danish )
The danish C-47's were deployed in Congo and used as patrol aircraft over Greenland and the waters around Denmark. They served Denmark for 29 years ending in a 4 ship tour of the kingdom in 1982.
The nickname "Dakota" was used for the cargo version of the C-47 ( thanks for the update JGE_DK :)

But I have to lead your attention to a little tiny "error" on the tail section. There are two registrations on top of eachother : K-685 & K-687 (at least here there is).
And to clarify : The Dakota nickname was primarily used for the C-47s (the "cargo version" / military version of the DC-3). And not only the danish ones, but globally. 😉
