Angoulême is a commune, the prefecture of the Charente department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France.
Located on a plateau overlooking a meander of the river Charente, the city is nicknamed the "balcony of the southwest". The city proper's population is a little less than 42,000 but it is the centre of an urban area of 110,000 people extending more than fifteen kilometres (9.3 miles) from east to west.
Formerly the capital of Angoumois in the Ancien Régime, Angoulême was a fortified town for a long time, and was highly coveted due to its position at the centre of many roads important to communication, so therefore it suffered many sieges. From its tumultuous past, the city, perched on a rocky spur, inherited a large historical, religious, and urban heritage which attracts a lot of tourists.
Nowadays, Angoulême is at the centre of an agglomeration, which is one of the most industrialised regions between Loire and Garonne. Cultural life is dominated by the Angoulême International Comics Festival, the FFA Angoulême Francophone Film Festival and the Musiques Métisses Festival that contribute substantially to the international renown of the city.
This pack does not contain a full photogrammetry extract of the city but rather focuses on a few emblematic or massive buildings to keep acceptable size and performances for lower configurations.
It contains the following mods:
-Musée de la Bande Dessinée: the famous Festival Internationla de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême was launched in 1974. In 1985, a team formed by Roland Castro and Jean Remond won the architectural competition to host a museum dedicated to comics. The museum is now located in the rehabilitated industrial building of the former Brasseries Champigneulles
-Mairie d’Angoulême: it was designed by Paul Abadie and is a handsome 19th-century structure. It has preserved and incorporated two 13th-century towers, Lusignan and Valois, from the Castle of the Counts of Angoulême on the site on which it was built. It contains museums of paintings and archaeology.
-Cathédrale d’Angoulême: its façade is decorated by more than 70 sculptures, organized into two decorative themes, the Ascension and the Last Judgement, which are cleverly intermingled. The church's original appearance was modified along the ages and recent alterations were made during the restorations by Paul Abadie in 1866-1885, including the addition of the two towers with conical tops, although the façade remains mostly medieval.
-Lycée Guez de Balzac: this is the oldest secondary school in the Angoumois area. It is located on Place Beaulieu in the historic center of Angoulême where its imposing neo-classical architecture makes it an important element of the architectural heritage of the city.
-Halles d’Angoulême: they were built in 1886 and are made of architectural glass and iron of Baltard type.
-CNAM-ENMJIN: this public school is entirely devoted to video games and digital interactive media. It was founded in 2001 and has been located in the buildings of the former Papeteries du Nil since 2014.
-Eglise Notre Dame d’Obézine: This neo-Gothic church was built from 1895 to 1960 , according to plans by architects Raymond Barbaud and Édouard Bauhain. It has been listed as a historic monument since 2001.
-Préfecture de la Charente: The Hôtel de Préfecture dates from the 19th century. The prefecture building has been partially listed as a historical monument since 1975.
-Eglise Saint-André: Built during the 12th century, it is one of the oldest churches in the city, with the nearby Saint-Pierre cathedral. Retaining a collection of paintings from the 16th , 17th , 18th and 19th centuries, an altarpiece and a baroque pulpit in carved wood, it has been listed as a historical monument since 1951.
-Eglise Saint-Martial: this church, which is one of the oldest churches in the city center of Angoulême, is placed under the patronage of the Apostle of Aquitaine, Martial de Limoges , who evangelized Aquitaine in the 3rd and 4th centuries, before settling in Limoges. The original church remained until 1848, when the building, which threatened to collapse, was closed. The architect Paul Abadie proceeded with its reconstruction. The work lasted from 1849 to 1856. The new building was in the regional neo-Romanesque style
-Eglise Saint-Ausone: This church, inspired by the ogival style of the 12th century, is located on the side of the plateau of the town of Angoulême. It was built by Paul Abadie, from 1864 to 1869. Ausone was the first bishop of Angoulême. His burial is said to be on the edge of town at the location where the Benedictine Abbey of Women was established
-Théâtre d’Angoulême: this building dates from the end of the 19th century . It was designed by the architect Antoine Soudée and built between 1867 and 1870. Inaugurated by the city of Angoulême on May 14, 1870, it has a remarkable facade, which notably includes two statues by the sculptor Jules Blanchard representing Comedy and Drama.

Bonjour
Pouvez vous me dire si votre scène d’Angoulême est compatible avec celle de Thalixte (voir: https://fr.flightsim.to/file/6159/angouleme-city-france). Merci pour votre réponse.
Cordialement

Bonjour,
Votre lien semble mort?
