Great job on the airport, but there may be a quirk with the static a/c. I made sure both folders are enabled, but all the static liveries (Everts planes) are blank.

Hey, I will check this out. May just be an out of date folder. Stay tuned for a quick fix!

Hello,
Thank you for this very nice airport! I love flying there. Unfortunately, the complete asset folder does not work for me. It is marked red by the Addon Linker and always deactivated. Thanks for help and addon!
ProjectFlightSim 2 day(s) ago
For the aircraft? I will redo the aircraft assets folder and hopefully fix the issues for you!

Thanks for this, I fly out of here a lot with the PMDG DC-6 great airport!

Can you verify this is working with MSFS 2020 SU9? It is beautiful scenery but I won't install it until it says it is verified to work with SU9. Thanks.

Good work! Thanks for sharing
ZILL
I flew with SU9 updated patch and the buildings at the Fairbanks airport were all pink texture.

Thank you for your continued updates and enhancements to PAFA!!!! My time at this airport goes back nearly 50 years.
I would like to ask if you might add gate numbers in a future update?
Again, thank you for the fantastic work and contributions!

Should be an easy and quick fix! Ive got to change some things on the static DC6 and 737 and add some De-icing trucks so ill change the gate numbers in preparation for that next update! Ill reply to this comment once that update comes!

Hi, thanks for your work, it looks great! I'm a bit confused though. The main folder in the version 0.8 zip file is marked as version 0.7 and the installation instructions say copy both folders into the Community folder but there are three folders in the archive.
newtestleper 10 month(s) ago
Don't copy the one he didn't specify, which is also the one dated January 10. :shrug:

Fixed file structure, sorry about the confusion!

Love this spot! I think I had an issue with one of my planes landing with ILS but that doesn't matter. This is a very well put together spot in Alaska and you've done a great job here. Please keep up the good work.

Should be fixed with latest updated! Let me know if problem persists!

You're amazing! I will download and check again in a few different planes and let you know. I am sure everything is just fine though. 😉

Any chance of adding some open hangars to store our planes in?
ProjectFlightSim 1 year(s) ago
I can surely try! Ive been going back and forth between projects and PAFA is back on the menu. Will most likely model the tower and then move to a large hangar of sorts!

Many thanks - would save some time de-icing before flight 😊

Thank you for this lovely and detailed scenery. PAFA was a very needed addition indeed.
The only problem i have with this scenery: whenever i fly to PAFA from anywhere and select any approach for RWY02/02L in the DEP/ARR procedures page of my FMS (tested with CJ4), the sim crahes. This does not happen when i deactivate your addon. Could you please be so kind and investigate/update the approaches?
Thank you, best regards.

I will see what I can do to fix this issue! Please stay tuned!
Chicken3H 1 year(s) ago
Thank you for your effort and dedication, but I have found the error myself.
The crash came because of misplaced two navigraph data entries inside the content.xml file. I have corrected the location of these entries inside the file and now it works like a charm. Good to have a decent rendition of PAFA as a base for exploring Alaska....
Keep up the good work.

Hi
So I have had the same problem - which is a great pity as this looks really great.
Glad you were able to fix this, but would you be able to say which entries you changed in the content.xml file and how? Also where is the location of the file that you made the changes to? This may help others - unless ProjectFlightSim updates the Fairbanks files to take this into account...
Chicken3H 1 year(s) ago
If you have the Navigraph Navdata database installed, make sure that your content.xml file looks like follows. The Navigraph database consists of two entries, the first one has to be inserted in line 6 (on my system), or in the line below this one here:
<Package name="fs-base-nav" active="false"/>
<Package name="navigraph-navdata-base" active="true"/>
Please note that the activity flag in the fs-base-nav has to say "false", so you may have to change this. The second Navigraph entry alway has to be the last entry in the content.xml file, so that the end of the file should look like this:
<Package name="navigraph-navdata" active="true"/>
</Content>
This fixed it for me, as all STARs / SIDs / approaches and local frequencies are now loaded from the Navigraph database and not from the scenery itself. I have to admit, that i only tested it with the WT CJ4, as this is by far my favourite aircraft.
Unfortunately i have no idea how the issue that i had reported initially could be fixed - if you don't use Navigraph - without the help of the scenery creator.
Best regards, Christian

Hi Christian
First thank you for your detailed advice. Who'd have thought the MSFS nav base was still active? I would never have known to check.
Anyway I changed the lines as per your guide and bingo! it works
Thanks again.
Longer term not sure whether this would be a permanent fix, I wonder whether this may have to be redone after the next update? But anyway that's not the publisher's fault.

Thank you for the update and helping out! I unfortunately do not know why this occurred in the first place with my scenery but i'm glad a fix was found! Happy flying to you all!

THANK YOU!!!! This is where I first began flying in the 1970's and worked on my first
"War Bird". I have been looking forward to this airport being brought to life!!!!!

Thanks so much for this one...

Can you include version without static aircraft?
ProjectFlightSim 1 year(s) ago
Id suggest deleting the Vehicle Assets folder from your community folder, that should remove them from the scenery! If youd like them removed and parking areas added I can do that too!
brad0131 1 year(s) ago
Yes, can you please do that and assign the parking codes to each gate? I use AIG and would love to fly here with Alaska airlines 😊
DennyAtkin 1 year(s) ago
This is awesome! And just one vote that some of us like the static aircraft, so maybe next update just include a note in the readme file telling folks who don't want them what to delete?
Thanks for creating htis!
ProjectFlightSim 1 year(s) ago
Of course!
Thats a great idea, I think ill begin releasing the project with both static aircraft and a version with no static aircraft and more parking! I will hopefully release an update within a week with some positive changes! Thank you all for the support!
browns11 1 year(s) ago
Great addition! I would like to add support for the request to add Gate numbers if possible!! Thank you!
ProjectFlightSim 1 year(s) ago
Hey, quick update.
With the workflow of this project and how much more needs to be done, I will be leaving the static aircraft until I hit V1.0 which will be the initial full release. I hope you understand, and with the current momentum it shouldn't be long at all for V1.0 to release! (Hopefully January 2022)
Thank you!
ezwingman
Really pleased that you have updated this airport.
I hope that you can get the Everts Fuel area included at some time, plus the vast GA side.
ProjectFlightSim 1 year(s) ago
Definitely planning on the Everts Cargo area for the PMDG DC6 users! Having a hard time finding a DC6 model so it might take some time before I get to that. But I do plan on revamping the whole airport! Just doing sections at a time right now!
browns11 1 year(s) ago
Interesting thought, but maybe not possible. When I lived in Fairbanks in the 1970's, there was two "abandoned" B-25 Mitchell bombers at the end of tarmac sitting on dirt. I'm sure they were bought and moved in later years. I still have a photo or two. One was a special variant with a solid nose with six machine guns.
ProjectFlightSim 1 year(s) ago
V0.6 Update;
We now have the Everts Air Fuel hangar located near the terminal and custom modelled (my first aircraft model) Evert Air Fuel DC6's!
Also included some parking areas for those using the PMDG DC6!
Hope you enjoy!
