After a very long time in development, as well as a lot of learning along the way, my Spitfire Mk VB has finally been released to the flight simulator!
This is still a WIP so expect some missing features, as well as some textures not being up to par with Microsoft Flight sim standards.
Things that are under developent:
- Intergrated WW2 pilot model.
- Full start up procedure.
- More instruments.
- More variants and liveries.
Liveries included in the package:
- Fictional D-Day livery
- Real Norwegian Spitfire Mk VB livery of 332 Norwegian squadron
- Desert livery BR487 of 497 squadron flown by Sgt Clive Percival Lloyd (with trop filter)
- Donald Duck livery from 303 polish squadron, flown by Jan Zumbach
- Fictional livery based on the Mk 9 Pink PR (Photo Recon) livery
Future liveries coming to the aircraft:
-American livery BL766 of 336th fighter squadron
Aircraft variants included in the package:
- Standard Mk VB variant
- Mk VB clipped wing variant
- Mk VB tropical variant
(Disclaimer: These all use the same flight model currently, however I am working on giving them separate flight models eventually)
The Spitfire Mk VB was a fighter during WW2. It was the most produced Spitfire ever with over 6,464 units produced. This version of the Mk V, the VB was fitted with two 20mm cannons, and 4 .303 calibre machine guns.
The Spitfire Mk V was fitted with the merlin 45 v12 engine with 1,440 horse power.
NEW UPDATE 1.2!
The update includes:
New liveries! (Thanks to Reaper7645 for the desert livery)
Two new model variants! (with the same flight models)
You are wonderfully improving this bird.
To my eyes and my joystick, it becomes a pleasure to fly.!

I've always wanted a free Spitfire for MSFS and this one is good, but the roll seems a bit slow and I'm pretty sure it's meant to be green and grey, not green and white. Otherwise, it's an amazing addon.

As I said in the description, the textures will be improved. Both interior and exterior. And for the rolling, that will be fixed eventually but is not a priority at the moment. I’m glad you’re enjoying it so far though. If you have anything more feedback I’d be happy if you could let me know! Thank you for the feedback so far.

Thank you! I’ve learned a lot lately, so the next update will most likely be a huge improvement. Although because of summer holidays I don’t have much time so you will have to wait a bit. I’m happy you’re enjoying it so far though 😊.

Thank you to have share your great work. Cockpit on your picture looks very good! I hope I will find time this weekend to fly it!

Thank you for this very nice comment! I hope you enjoy it. Keep in mind though it has multiple bugs still as this is the first release of the aircraft. Altitude gauge is also not working. But I do hope you enjoy it!

If you could leave a comment as well instead of just the stars, that would be great as that would let me know why you aren’t satisfied.

your choice of colours for the interior (far too bright a green!) and the camouflage again is too bright and garish. Just tone them down and look at other examples for guidance.

I am already working on fixing the exterior and interior textures (as stated in the description) and trust me it’s already looking much better and will be a part of the next update. I am not so skilled when it comes to texturing so it’s taking longer than expected sadly.
