Overview

As Oklahoma's first television station, KFOR-TV signed on in June 1949 as WKY-TV, the television extension to WKY (930 AM). In its early years, WKY-TV boasted several regional and national technical firsts: it was the first independently-owned network affiliate to directly originate color programs, the first station to operate a mobile broadcasting unit for live event coverage, the first station to broadcast legislative sessions and cover court proceedings, and the first television station to broadcast a tornado warning. Originally owned by the Oklahoma Publishing Company, a direct predecessor to Gaylord Broadcasting, the station became KTVY in 1976 and KFOR-TV in 1990. (Citation: Wikipedia)

KFOR news plays an important role year round for reporting news in the Oklahoma metro and outlying communities. But more importantly they are home of the 4Warn Storm team. They fly a Bell 206L LongRanger out of the station to report various news and track severe weather that will inevitably impact various regions surrounding the Oklahoma City Metro. They provide important tornado and storm information that could be used to help initiate a tornado warning potentially saving the lives of 1000s.

What this mod does

This adds a "runway" and one parking spot to the station. It also HEAVILY modifies the parking lot and some of the scenery in front of the building to make it more pleasurable to fly in and out of if you are simulating flying as the KFOR news chopper.  I removed the "photogrammetry trees" in the surrounding area so you don't have giant green walls inside of the trees to enhance the scenery! As far as the "runways" go, the parking spot and runways put you in the same exact location facing the same direction. If you want a cold and dark start, pick the parking spot. If you want to already be running, then pick either runway. You have to have a runway of some sort for hot starts to work. It is completely invisble and impacts absolutely nothing!

I want to improve the radars that sit out front in the parking lot with higher quality ones but none were included in the flight sim SDK. If anybody knows of an asset library that has some, let me know and I will GLADLY throw them in and credit the author!
