Carrier Ops - USS Enterprise (PZ61)

Version 3.3 - Animated Arrestor wires have been installed so you will need to hook a wire with the tail hook to stop the plane on the flight deck. You MUST install the latest release of the F/A 18E Super Warrior for correct operation of the animations - V6 or higher.

The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) is positioned just off the coast near the Wallop Flight Facility (KWAL) and is ready to launch you and the FA/18E Super Warrior on the ride of your life! After your flight you can return to the carrier and land (put the hook down) IF you can catch a wire.
This mod provides a fully functioning deck crew trained to launch you and the F/A-18E Super Warrior into the blue skies. Just follow their directions and you'll soon be carrier qualified.

Delete previous versions and drag them all into your community folder.
In order to use the catapult facility and arrestor wires you MUST use the F/A-18E Super Warrior, the Asobo variant is not modified for carrier work.
How to use the catapult
Start the flight on the USS Enterprise (Icao PZ61)
Ensure that launchbar switch is DISABLED (raised)
Look for the crew officer giving you guidance signals onto the catapult
Slowly taxi to his direction following signals (left - forward - right)
When you get close to the catapult shuttle he will give you stop signal
Make full stop and ENABLE (lower) the launchbar switch
Disable parking brake and toe brakes if you engaged them
Wait until the Shooter (on your left) gives you spin up signal
Increase throttle to maximum, about 10 seconds later launch will be initiated
After you fly away about 500m from the carrier, the crew will be reset and can be used again
If you found something wrong with crew - enable > disable Launchbar switch so crew near to you will be reset to initial state
How to use arresting gear
Prepare for landing - extract gears, enable tailhook handle (right-front panel), set flaps to AUTO or HALF
Follow AOA indicator, keep airspeed around 160kn
Right before touchdown, raise pitch angle so the tailhook will catch an arrestor cable
After collision detected, you will experience deceleration (similar to reverse thrust)
After full stop arresting process will be completed.
