F-14A Tomcat BUNO 158616 Patuxent River circa 1974
This livery was requested by retired USN Chief Petty Officer Pete Ward. In 1974, as a 3rd Class Petty Officer, Pete was fortunate to get a 3.5 hour long back seat ride in F-14A (Buno 1586160, while stationed at NATC (Naval Air Test Center) Patuxent River, MD. The pilot for that flight was LT. Curtis R."DosO" Dosé, a USN Test Pilot, who conducted numerous tests in new weapons/aircraft configurations for F-8 Crusader and F-14 Tomcat aircraft.
During the Vietnam war, Curtis R. Dosé, Commander, USN Ret. (a Silver Star recipient) shot down a MIG-21MF.
Installation: copy or move the folder " dcdesigns-aircraft-f14-NATSPR " to your Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 " Community" folder and enjoy.

I've been thinking about buying the DC Designs F-14 but haven't pulled the trigger. This livery is going to make me do it. Awesome job!! Lived near Pax River and loved going to the airshows. Hope someone redo's the airbase and would love to see a livery of the P-3 Orion NATC Anti Submarine Warfare of the same era (70's-80's)

Thank you so much for taking the time to create this paint for me! I appreciate the detailed work you put into it, and how exact a recreation of F-14A Tomcat BUNO 158616 this is. My ride in this beautiful aircraft was 47 years ago, this coming October, but that experience is something that doesn't fade from my memories. My tour at NATC was the best time of my life. I was a USN Aviation Structural Mechanic on Egress/Environmental systems (ejection seats & pressurization) on Cold War era jets. I had the honor of riding in several aircraft types, but the Tomcat was so beautifully designed, and such a powerful beast! Flight simulation allows me to fly many of the types of jets I helped maintain, and this aircraft's repaint really is special. I am most appreciative. AMEC(AW) Peter C. Ward, USN, (Ret.).
