Note: For whatever reason my files are not available on Flightsim.to anymore. I have contacted them but received no response. While waiting for their reaction, you can download the file here.
Amplified checklist for the PMDG DC-6, using the in-game checklist feature. The checklist is pretty long and mostly follows the recommended operating procedures. This is mainly intended for those who like the built-in MSFS checklist feature and want to operate the airplane without relying on the automatic flight engineer.
Version 2 is a major update and includes a smart-camera feature for almost all checklist items. In manual mode, clicking on the eye symbol next to an item will highlight it in blue, and a small token shows you in which direction you have to look. In assisted mode (see screen shot of piloting assitance options), checklist items are read aloud and switches and gauges are automatically highlighted.
Version 2 is a collaboration with user rostyk, who taught me about checklist formats and provided invaluable insight in proper procedures for the DC-6. He also added the majority of code for highlighting switches abd gauges.

Not Working, the game crash on Loading flight.

I just checked: it works fine on my system, with the latest MSFS and PMDG updates. Have you tried the following?:
I know it is annoying to have to go through all these hoops, but it is the only way to make sure that it is really the checklist that causes problems, not something else. As I said, I cannot reproduce the problem here.
If anyone else experiences these problems, please let us know.

Really good job on this. I don't suppose it's possible for the camera to focus on each highlighted object, and also recognise when the correct action has been performed and move on to the next item in the list, similar to how it works with the default aircraft?
We tried that, but we couldn't get it to work consistently. It only worked for a few items, hence we stopped pursuing it. It would be nice, though :)

Great stuff!
Even though I like using the flight engineer, the checklist gives me an idea of how everything works (i.e. how to start the engines) without needing to have the manual and/or tutorials in hand.
Cheers!

Thank you very much - great job!
But what about magnetos? I may have overlooked it, but I cannot find the magnetos setting in the engine start checklist subset.
Did I miss something?
But nevertheless, I am very glad to have those checklists. Please keep on!

Thanks for checking out potential errors. I am travelling and cannot check myself right now (no Windows PC near me). I will look at the magnetos when I return in early November. Having said that, I do believe that they are included. My recollection may be wrong, but I think there are items for ignition before start-up and for engine selection during the start procedure. You could try to follow the checklist and see if the engines will start. They wouldn't if the magnetos aren't switched on in some form. They may just not have the same name.

Superb job ! Thank you.
You don´t have planed to make it for the CRJ 550/700 from Aerosoft?

Hello Phil,
thanks for your feedback. I don't own the CRJ (yet). However, if I should get it, I would consider setting up a checklist as well :)

You cant simply tell us to copy the file in your .zip! The manifest.json contains only your checklist referral. Only will be broken witha simple copy!

I just made a quick consistency test. The checklist appears to work just fine, I do not see any difference in performance compared to version 2.0.25 of PMDG's DC-6. Are you positive your problems are caused by the checklist? I am using the default livery; could it be a third-party livery instead?
If anyone else is experiencing problems with the checklist, I would appreciate if you tell us about it so that we can get to the bottom of the problem.

With v 2.0.28 of PMDG now the aircraft has disappeared from MSFS menus when I copied these files. I have to reinstall everything. So sad. (I don't have time...)

Thanks for making me aware of your problems. I have not tested 2.0.28 yet, but will do so soon

Weird - cannot get this to work.
As soon as I copy the folder into Community, MSFS2020 will halt during the "Checking updates" screen.
When I remove the checklist mod, the game starts without any problems.
That's very weird indeed. I suppose your MSFS is up to date? I would suggest to wait until version 2.0 is released and try again. I believe we (Rostyk and I collaborate on this) will publish it soon.

Thank you very much for this !!
Does it cover the all OPERATING PROCEDURES?
From the section 2.1 to 3.7 of the official PMDG, P.O.H document.
It's basically section 2.1-2.12, with a few edits; e.g., I like to set position lights according to FSCaptain procedures.

Hi Rostyk,
I learn something new every day :), thanks so much for suggesting this. Of course we should add this. I now tried it myself with a few instruments and it works very nicely. Have you added many instruments already? We can work together on adding as many as possible, or you send me what you have and I continue from there.

Very nice, hopefully you will do this for the PMDG 737 once released
3 years ago
No promises, I have to see when the plane will be published. However, I actually do have an electronic amplified checklist for the P3D version that I created when I learned to fly the 737 a long time ago. Hence, if PMDG doesn't add that feature, I might be tempted ;)
