Okanagan Valley Airfields 1
This is Osoyoos, BC (CBB9) the first in a series of Canadian airfields in the Okanagan
Valley, a follow up to my Okan(o)gan Valley Airfields bundle, on my way to Kelowna, BC
and possibly beyond. Not a lot happening scenery wise at the airfield, but Lake Osoyoos
is a great place for recreation, so my focus was on the lake, private docks and marina near the
airfield. I found great static and animated boat libraries (links below) to really bring
the lake to life. I edited the nearby biomes (a lot of them) to reflect orchards rather than forests.
I edited the nearby water bodies (including the golf course ponds) that didn't have water
surfaces and lowered the canal down to lake level so it doesn't appear above ground level.
There are animated boats and people at the private docks along the shore and I filled the marina
with boats. So explore the shoreline near the airfield and look out for boat traffic!
Although there is no "official" water runway on Lake Osoyoos. I included one so you can start on
the water if you prefer.
When the airfields are complete, I'll package them up.
Installation: Unzip and place in your Community folder.
Download libraries and install in your Community folder.
Enjoy!
If you have any older sceneries from this area (I've been told that "deltasim59er" made some a while back)
make sure to delete them from your scenery folder as not to cause a conflict.

Thanks for upgrading these airports. I fly here quite a bit so I really appreciate it. If you go as far as Kelowna, please don't stop at least until you get to Vernon!
Cheers - Tom

That is the plan. I'm making my own objects for Penticton, so it will be a longer. Have to relearn Sketchup.

Ah, good stuff! I'm glad to see this area get some attention as it's my home. Let me know if you'd like any IRL pictures of Osoyoos, Oliver, or Penticton airports

I was just thinking that if I had some IRL photos I could make the hangars and buildings in blender. I used to make my own objects...I did Whidbey Island NAS, Fairchild AFB and Port Angeles Coast Guard Air Station for FSX about a decade ago lol. Shouldn't take long to re teach myself. I'm almost finished with Oliver now, but I'd like to make my own objects for Penticton and maybe update the one's I've already done before final upload.

You may want to put a note in your description for folks to make sure they clear out older versions from the other Scenery Developer, as he had quite a few airports in this area, although it has been at least a year or more since they were updated, folks that are not using ADDON Linker and putting files directly into their Community folder, could create a CTD situation... Sorry I don't remember the creator, but he posted a whole bunch of Canadian Scenery, primarily the Western Provinces, and were not posted to flightsim.to but were all available on his own site... If I can find the link I will update this post. Update: These earlier sceneries were produced by deltasim59er and he started posting here but then moved everything to his own server under Genaiss.com, which no longer seems to be active and while he is still listed here, has not been active in over a year. However, some folks could still have his files lingering in there Community folders...
